Human Dignity And Human Rights

It is still a mystery that since when we inhabited this planet and from where did the human race evolve. But we now believe  that our species has a history of more than ten thousand years based on various dating techniques and material decay studies. Human life has always been valued and caring of the sick by other members of the community is practised. From the time when different herbs were used empirically to treat ailments before the Chriatian era to today where we witness heart, lung and liver transplants, Lobotomy, Septal myectomy, Sex Reassignment Surgery (SRS) and many more, numerous advancements in the field of health and medicine can be acknowledged. Since the Hippocratic time, many breakthroughs were made at different points of time. After training of physicians began in early 13th century in Italy, healthcare was systematized. The invention of microscope in the 17th century , postulation of ‘The Germ Thoery of Disease’ in the 19th century, discovery of antibiotics, invention of X-rays and use of ultrasonography in medicine, all these accelerated the medical field towards its ‘post-modern’ era.

Save Dr. Govinda KC : I am with Dr. Govinda KC

Fight for Justice , Support the truth,
Let's raise our voice as a true Patriot.

An Orthopedic Surgeon by Profession, Professor Dr. Govinda KC, from Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Maharajgunj, Nepal has challenged the corrupt Nepal government to take necessary actions for checking all the irregularities and corruption in the medical education sector by announcing his 11th fast-unto-death. All his previous episodes of fast unto death were broken by the representatives of Nepal government with a written commitment that his justifiable demands will be addressed as soon as possible. However, it is an unfortunate situation that the brave, non-violent, seeker of justice has to start yet another fast-unto-death.

Medical education in Nepal is getting more and more expensive as the private medical colleges have been a sharing a large portion of the nation's medical colleges and education. The bussiness-minded mafias and money magnates have been charging exorbitant fees with the medical students providing a poor quality education. And, the most disastrous situation is that, admissions into these medical colleges are based not on the marks secured in the entrance exams or merits, but based on first come first serve basis. Poor and talented students could not get opportunity to study medical education in Nepal even if they are willing to pay the required fees because the middle-men and agents of those medical colleges have already arranged seats for the ones ready to pay whatever they demanded.

Having acknowledged all this scenario, Prof. Dr. Govinda KC, a truly selfless man has started his 11th fast unto death demanding the admissions to be taken based on the merits and the formation a separate commission to look after the medical education system of the country. Today on Shrawan 20th 2074 B.S, August 4, 2017, It is the 12th day and his health is deteriorating. Let's pressurize the government to take necessary actions to save his live and let the justice prevail in the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal
